    What an awesome site. Yay.

  2. Mila Says:

Вы придурки хоть напишите что это не перевод, а херня какая-то! Зачем писать что это перевод, если это абсолютно не так!

  3. Larona Says:

SO CUTE! love the “captions” btw lol

  4. Kayla Campbell Says:

I don’t really get this site…these are not correct translations.
    They’re not even close.
The above says something along the lines of “The world has only one most precious child. And every mother knows him.”
    NOTHING to do with Lenin.

  5. Merle Says:

And they are clearly NOT sleeping with vigor. They display false consciousness even in their unconscious state.

  6. Joel Says:

Humour is a sign of intelligence. If you can’t see that these are jokes, well…

  7. Fluent Says:

    Oh, Joel, don’t flatter yourself:)

  8. Evan Says:

Fluent, I think you’ve already shown your intelligence.

  9. Harold Says:

We, ugly Americans, sure do love to laugh – so long as its @ others’ expense. Someone hx0rz this site already. Lame.

  10. Kenny Says:

This is awesome, why are people unable to see that these are obviously mistranslated that’s what makes it FUNNY!

  11. momo Says:

    everyone’s on edge these days.

  12. John Says:

Because this a site run by non-Russians for non-Russians… it would be totally different if people were laughing at themselves.

Imagine these captions were in another language, and the mistranslations made use of crude stereotypes. I could come up with 5 languages of the top of my head where this site would immediately be deemed offensive… For example, if the captions were in Arabic, and the translations had any kind of fundamentalist Islamic themes… people would find it unacceptable.

But it’s acceptable to make fun of Russians.

  13. Sam Says:

🙂 we’re so good at being offended for other people. I bet if you guys would relax a bit that lolcat could crawl outta your ass. If someone gets offended, let them decide for themselves, and then let them get over it.

  14. Anna Says:

Boy, there’s a lot of you in here eager to equate the relentless beating of a horse two decades dead to a display of intelligence. Fail.

  15. Pilev Says:

@John: Die in a cracker fire.

  16. Varvar Says:

Why is everyone complaining? These translations aren’t bad.

For truly bad translations you can simply turn on the World News on CNN.

  17. CarlosPC Says:

From now on I will always “sleep with vigor”!

  18. TimkaTheRus Says:

Anna, I’m a Russian and find this site absolutely, undoubtedly, and undeniably hilarious.

As for the non-Russian speakers: These translations are dead on.

    У ч и т е л ь. Дети, запишите предложение:
    “Рыба сидела на дереве”.
    У ч е н и к. А разве рыбы сидят на деревьях?
    У ч и т е л ь. Ну… Это была сумасшедшая рыба.

  19. Truth Says:

First the jokes aren’t aimed at “Russians” per se, but communists. It turns out though that Russians were once communists! I know some of you dullards from our sad US educational system might not know that though, so I forgive your ignorance. I am also aware that our system has been guiding you towards the idea the communism is good.

Not to worry though! It probably won’t be long before we have our very own re-education camps here in the US!

Thanks for whoever made this site and keep up the good work. A few Chinese and Cuban ones might be nice too!

  20. stormkite Says:

Once again, and as expected, “Truth” is nothing but lies. Welcome to Wingnuttia.

  21. Bwahahaa! Says:

Where are the lies in that? I’d love to hear your reasoning behind that comment.

  22. Vasily Says:

Every trace of the ineffable function of comedy has been bled from the gentile hearts of many of those who have commented….pfff clearly errors from the tip of a Georgian pen.

  23. ročne ure Says:

Stick to see your an understanding of the actual pictures you write. The whole world desires far more zealous freelancers just like you that are not worried to express where did they consider. Constantly chase the heart.
